19 Apr Magic Minute: Instagram Ups Video Limit From 15 Secs To 1Min
If you’ve ever struggled to meet Instagram’s video length cap of 15 seconds, you’ll be happy to hear they’ve recently upped the video length limit to 60 seconds. Hooray!
The change rolled out to iOS and Android users late March, and should be available to all users within the next month or so.
The news was very welcomed and had been strongly anticipated by users, especially as Instagram had already made it possible for advertisers to post videos up to a minute long a few months prior.
The new length cap is just the beginning – Facebook-owned Instagram also hinted that users can expect to see even more new video features later this year.
This is because videos are increasingly important to Instagram, which recently hit 400 million monthly active users. The company announced that over the past six months the amount of time users spent watching Instagram videos increased by 40%. Since revamping it’s curated ‘Explore’ tab, Instagram has also been delivering more curated videos in collections built around popular accounts and places that users gravitate towards, for example public figures/celebrities or holiday destinations.
